First Trailer of Bleach Live Action Movie: Fighting a Hollow | Anime is Lifeline

It has just been revealed that the very popular manga Bleach by Tite Kubo will get a live action movie adaptation, and while this news is still making it’s way through the internet, the first trailer has been released, including a scene from the film.


In the trailer, we can see a very short scene where Ichigo fights a Hollow in what seems like a residential area and he uses the sword only a shinigami can use: Zanpakuto.


In the manga, Ichigo Kurosaki is a rather regular high school boy who happens to be able to see spirits. But one day, he receives the power of the shinigami (Soul Reaper) Rukia Kuchiki, as his family is being attacked by an evil spirit known as a Hollow.
Ichigo will be portrayed by Sota Fukushi. Taking the megaphone and directing the movie is Shinsuke Sato, who has also worked on the well known Japanese movies GANTZ and I am a Hero.

‘Ichigo’s Zanpakuto is huge, so at first I just used it a bit to get used to it. Fighting with the sword was a lot harder than I imagined, but I think it ended in a good action scene. The Hollow which the director and the CG team created are making this a big scale movie. Please look forward to the many charming characters, as well as the confrontation between Ichigo and the Hollows.’


Comment from Director Shinsuke Sato

‘To be able to make a Hollow appear realistic and suddenly in a residential area, we used CG and all kinds of other technologies, working on one cut after the other. For now, we can only show the arm, but this will be a great action scene like nobody has seen before. Please look forward to next summer.’
